Thank You DeLand for responding to the Census2010 Questionnaire!
It's Not Too Late to Be Counted!
Census Takers to Visit Households May through July!
Door-to-Door Enumeration
"The Census worker will ONLY ask the questions that appear on the census form and carry an official government badge marked with just their name; they may also have a "U.S. Census Bureau" bag.
They will NEVER ask to enter your home.
The Census Bureau employees are sworn for life to protect your data under federal law. The Census Bureau worker will carry a flashcard with more than 50 languages so that if a resident does not speak English, he or she can point to one of these languages and a new census taker will be assigned appropriately.
If you are still unsure of the legitimacy of the worker, you can confirm their identification by contacting your Regional Census Center at (404)-335-1555 or your Regional Partnership Group at (404)-335-1467.
To view information on the door-to-door enumeration that will take place during the months of May, June, and July and information about the census takers, follow the links below:"

Florida Needs to Know . . . Did you get counted?
The Florida House of Representatives has launched a new website, www.myfloridacensus.gov, to make sure every Floridian is counted.
"Each Floridian not counted means between $900 and $3,000 dollars a year in missed Federal funds. These lost funds will have to be made-up by local taxes or less services. MyFloridaCensus is a simple online tool that allows anyone in Florida to tell us whether or not they have been counted in the 2010 Census. With that information in hand, the Florida House of Representatives is able to work with other census partners to help analyze (and thereby minimize) which streets, neighborhoods and communities may go missed in the 2010 Census.
Please go to www.myfloridacensus.gov and put in your address then click on the button to tell if you have been counted by the census or not. This will put a point on the map to show where people have and have not been reached by the census."

Census Complete Count
In an effort to promote the importance and benefits of the Census2010 campaign, the City of DeLand has partnered with the Volusia County Complete Count Committee. The Complete Count Committee includes all municipalities within Volusia County and is grouped into eight (8) focus areas or subcommittees, such as Community/Social Organization Subcommittee and Education Subcommittee.
Helpful Information
The U.S. Census Bureau must count every person living in the United States. To accomplish this task, the U.S. Census will mail an official questionnaire for each citizen to complete.
Did you know that the census affects:
Funding for public works, public health, public safety, education, transportation, social services, and FEMA assistance
Location of services for the elderly, disadvantaged, business, schools, road, and job training centers
District Boundaries which will determine who will be your voice in Congress, state, county, school and local governments
