Charles Paiva was elected to Seat 2 of the City Commission in November of 2008. Charles previously served on the City Commission from October of 2001 to 2005.
Charles Paiva was born and raised in DeLand, Florida.
Education
Charles Paiva is a 1993 graduate of Deltona High School. He pursued further education at the University of Central Florida earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Charles is employed by AAA Gun & Pawn Shop. He was previously employed as a Fitness Coordinator at the DeLand Family YMCA. He was also a Coach of the Boys/Girls Weightlifting Teams at DeLand High School.

Personal
Charles Paiva is married to Heather Paiva.
Charles Paiva is a graduate of the DeLand Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy, and of Leadership DeLand. He attended the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hurricane Preparedness Training Course. He also spent some time as a Senior National USA Olympic Weightlifting Coach. He has been a Guest Lecturer at UCF and DBCC where he spoke on local government, voting and elections.
