MPO Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Task Force
The City’s representative to the MPO Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Task Force has resigned. This Task Force is a special subcommittee of the MPO Citizens’ Advisory Committee, which was created to ensure citizen input into the transportation planning process.
DeLand Housing Authority
The term for Seat 1 on the DeLand Housing Authority expired November 1, 2009. The DeLand Housing Authority shall consist of five members appointed by the City Commission. The majority of the membership must be City residents. One member must be a recipient of Section 8 housing. Terms are for four (4) years.
The DeLand Housing Authority is a local public housing agency for undertaking and carrying out preliminary planning of low-rent housing projects and financial assistance in providing low-rent housing by leasing dwelling units in existing privately-owned structures.
Airport Advisory Committee
Terms will expire on August 17, 2010 for the following Seats on the Airport Advisory Committee:
Seat 1, Category A FBO
Seat 3, At Large Resident
Seat 5, Skydive Manufacturing
Seat 7, Hangar Tenant
Seat 9, Commercial Aviation (Ex Officio)
Terms are for two (2) years. The mission of the Airport Advisory Committee is to review and make recommendations on airport policies, procedures and plans as requested by the City Commission or staff. The Committee may also make recommendations to maintain and improve airport safety, operational policies, and the economic viability of the DeLand Municipal Airport.
Tree Advisory Committee
Seats 5, 6 and 7 on the Tree Advisory Committee will expire on August 1, 2010. Terms are for two (2) years. City residency is not required. The Committee shall serve the purpose of reviewing tree planting within the City and recommending to the City Commission ways to improve the City’s tree program.
Citizens Advisory Task Force
Seat 1 on the Citizens Advisory Task Force is vacant. Terms are for four (4) years. A majority of members shall, at all times, be residents of the area served by CDBG funds and all members shall be residents of the City of DeLand. Members shall demonstrate an affirmative interest and concern about their community. Terms are for four (4) years.
Purpose: To provide advisory recommendations to the City Commission on the governance and applications for funding under the CDBG program; establish procedures for its operation and recommend to the City Commission for the creation of a permanent Community Relations Committee when appropriate; serve in an advisory capacity on issues brought forth by the City Commission for its deliberation and recommendation.
Applications are available in the City Clerk’s office in City Hall Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
